Passport Helper fills out a U.S. passport application form (DS-11 or DS-82) on your phone. Nothing you scan or type leaves your device.

Passport Helper ("the app") is published by SamsonIT, a service operated by BrightSkies Advisory LLC in Deerfield, Illinois ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app processes and where that information goes. The short version: we do not operate a server for your data, and the app does not transmit your personal information to us or to anyone else.
To fill the form, the app works with the photo of your passport, the details it reads from the passport (name, date of birth, sex, nationality, passport number, expiration date, place of birth), and the details you type in: Social Security Number, city of birth, physical description, mailing and home address, phone number, email address, occupation, parents' information (for a minor's application), emergency contact and travel plans.
It stays on your device. Reading the passport and filling the PDF both happen locally on your phone. The app has no account system, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting on any screen that handles your information, and it does not send your data to any third party.
Your Social Security Number and passport number are never written to storage. They exist only in memory while you use the app and are erased when you leave or background the app. You can also choose not to enter your Social Security Number at all and write it by hand on the printed form. The completed PDF is written to your device's temporary storage so you can print or share it; you control where it goes from the share sheet. The app keeps no persistent copy of your application.
Camera: used only to line up and read your passport on your device. Images are not uploaded. Photos: used only if you choose to pick an existing photo of your passport instead of using the camera.
For a minor's application, the app processes the child's and parents' information solely to fill the form on the device. It is not transmitted to us or retained on any server.
You can skip the camera and type everything manually. Closing the app clears sensitive data. Because nothing is sent to us, there is no account to delete and no server-side copy to erase.
Passport Helper is an independent tool by SamsonIT. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of State. It does not submit applications and does not collect government fees. You print the completed form and submit it yourself.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Because the app does not collect contact details, we cannot notify you directly, so please check this page from time to time.
